Step one: EXPLORATION
The process of discovering is a beautiful thing! This is when you learn about the church, make connections with church leaders and other members, and everyone begins to ascertain whether or not we're a good fit for each other. At this juncture, ALC will welcome the prospective member to a new members class to get copies of the church's beliefs and bylaws, as well as learn about the church's history and vision. This is the perfect time to raise inquiries, so fire away!
Step two: DETERMINATION
When a potential member declares a definite desire to make ALC their home, the Lead Pastor and other leadership team representatives will gather to deliberate. Membership is more than just another name to add to the roster; ALC will consider the new member part of the family. As a result, we refuse to trivialize this process, and only decide to add new members after much prayer and discussion.
Step three: AFFIRMATION
Upon a decision, ALC will notify all relevant parties of the agreement to add the new member to the congregation and execute official covenant agreements. We then affirm and welcome our newest members into the church family during a future church service. We confirm our dedication to our members, and our members express their commitment to the church in this time; it's a beautiful display of God's beauty working through us to see Him exalted.
